ML Projects: New “Final RFI Review” Role

MLP-logo-lg-rgb

ML Projects™ Construction Administration Software offers a new “Final RFI Reviewer” Project Role that provides control over who is able to mark an RFI as Complete.  Users with this role will be the only project users able to see the “Mark Complete” button.

Note: Project Admins and Contract Admins are always able to see the Mark Complete button.

Example Usage:

  1. A Contractor submits an RFI, which is reviewed by the Architect or CM who decide that the Engineer is the correct person to prepare the response.
  2. The RFI is redirected to the Engineer by the Architect or CM.
  3. The Engineer uses the Enter the Response button to enter the response and then redirects the RFI back to the Architect or CM.  (The Engineer would not see the Mark Complete button.)
  4. The Architect or CM would review the response and, if acceptable, would then mark the RFI complete provided that are a Final RFI Reviewer, Project Admin or Contract Admin.

In addition, the visibility status of the RFI response field prior to the RFI being marked complete has changed.  With this change, the only project members that can see the response prior to the RFI being marked as Complete are:

  • Project Admin
  • Contract Admin
  • Action By
  • Final RFI Reviewer

This will prevent Contractors from reading a preliminary response and taking action on it before it is finalized and formally marked as complete.

Thanks to Ashley at Young + Wright Architects in Buffalo, NY for the idea.
